Recommends it for: Anyone sdudying to pass the A+, or anyone interested in how PC hardware and software piece of work.

This is an excellent book, but perhaps only if you lot're studying to pass the A+. However in saying that, if yous have a deep involvement in computers and how they work this is an invaluable source of info.
The volume is well laid out and very easy to follow. Information technology is a text book then exist prepared to learn. In that location are many graphics that reinforce the accompanying text explanations. You will non pass the examination by reading this book alone, so I recommend net research every bit well. This volume is fairly clear, it could've be worse. Oh just what hell to read about the ins and outs of processors and difficult drives and OS-es. What a freaking snore fest. I did, however, score pretty high on the A+ certification exam. But this was not my only resource. If you are studying for the exam do not let this exist the only thing you use to study. I work as a system & network engineer; I found most of the information in this book to be superfluous and antiquated, it feels like big chunks of piece of work accept been copied and pasted from previous iterations of the volume.

When reading through and taking some notes, a few pages later the book volition let you know that what you lot have just spent fourth dimension learning is irrelevant data...

The thing that made me stop reading this volume, however, is when the author refers to the BIOS as a basic input/output "serv

Although I am not currently studying for the A+ examination, I found this book to be a skillful introduction to calculator hardware and computing in general. I feel this book is essential for every computer user.

This is a very good volume it is well written and saturated with detail, if you are looking to complete your CompTIA A+ Certification this is a smashing volume, well at to the lowest degree for the adjacent month or so as the certification will likely be updated past the new year and this book will be rendered obsolete. This is a thorough book which will comprehend all of the details y'all need to pass the examination, or for use 'in the field'.

The reason I don't give it 5 stars is because a lot of the data is irrelevant; For this reason others may well like it even more than, not to worry though, because this stuff is listed in the book as Historical/Conceptual.

This is the only report tool I used for the exams, take the practise tests and read the chapters carefully and this really is the only study tool yous volition demand.

A good book to get you through the CompTIA exams

finally finished this brute, time to study upward on those tougher concepts

Explained unproblematic enough for a beginner. Could have done with just an overview of examination specifics due to previous cognition of the field. Fun to read for a computer volume though!

Boring but useful. Better as a secondary reference if yous have other more concise material available.
