Y'all will not pass the exam by reading this book alone, so I recommend internet enquiry too. The volume comes with a disc containing practice exams that are indispensable, and some helpful videos.
I can wholeheartedly recommend this book, but I would also urge any potential A+ candidates to check out the latest version every bit the criteria for A+ has changed. Ever check here for details.

This volume is fairly clear, it could've be worse. Oh just what hell to read about the ins and outs of processors and difficult drives and OS-es. What a freaking snore fest. I did, however, score pretty high on the A+ certification exam. But this was not my only resource. If you are studying for the exam do not let this exist the only thing you use to study. Some of these chapters were definitely milked for length.

The thing that made me cease reading this volume, however, is when the author refers to the BIOS equally a basic input/output "service" and non a "system", enquire everyone who works in IT and nobody will refer to information technology as a service, I guarantee it, I checked the information out on Google and found 1 backwater site which mentions it every bit a service.
I think the book will be proficient for those seeking specialist information simply please dorsum it up with a more contemporary and forthright source of information.

Good book for bones noesis of Information technology topics just will need supplemental videos to grasp some concepts
I read this book to go more competitive in my early career. Tremendous knowledge. I never sought the certification only wanted to outsmart coworkers.
Although I am not currently studying for the A+ examination, I found this book to be a skillful introduction to calculator hardware and computing in general. I feel this book is essential for every computer user.
This is a very good volume it is well written and saturated with detail, if you are looking to complete your CompTIA A+ Certification this is a smashing volume, well at to the lowest degree for the adjacent month or so as the certification will likely be updated past the new year and this book will be rendered obsolete. That beingness said I'm certain they will release a adjacent edition and it will probable be the same. Michael Meyers is a great educator, this book is written in a mode that makes most of this information very piece of cake to sympathize and recollect. The but matter that I didn't savor about this feel was that this volume sandwiches both the 220-801 (hardware) and the 220-802 (software) certifications together. Most chapters will contain information regarding both certifications simultaneously. I might exist alone on this but with the sheer volume of information required to pass these tests I decided to take the tests separate equally to maximize my written report time and amend focus. This book really makes it hard to carve up the data for report purposes. Its still a peachy book, and if you are planning on taking the two certification exams at the same time this would exist a great choice for study materials. ...more than

The reason I don't give it 5 stars is because a lot of the data is irrelevant; For this reason others may well like it even more than, not to worry though, because this stuff is listed in the book as Historical/Conceptual.
Hope y'all bask.
