this is no longer located in c:\users\family. verify the items location and endeavor once again.

Hullo, practise you mean when you right click in desktop and select "New" then "folder" no new folder appears on the desktop?
If and then, go to search and type:- command prompt, right click on the returned command prompt and select "run as administrator"
an elevated cmd prompt will open. Re-create all the text in the cmd beneath, right click anywhere in the cmd prompt window and select "paste" the cmd will append to the prompt. Press enter, a notepad volition open, delight re-create paste the info here. This is perfectly safe as it is only reading what is already in that location.
reg query "HKCR\Directory\Background\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\New" > 0 & notepad 0

Hi, go back to my post 2 and read it once again carefully, you need to right click on the control prompt that search returns, from this you select "run as administrator". Then you run the cmd I gave you in post 2, it is not designed to fix your problem it is designed to see what that registry key shows, this primal is the one that controls the new binder option. The cmd outputs to a notepad you simply paste the notepad contents hither. SFC will do no damage it is however unlikely to set up your problem.

How-do-you-do, well washed, that entry must be as it is, and so we tin can now set your problem. Open the attached .nothing file, it returns folder.reg, double click on this and agree to add together to registry. This is perfectly safe as it returns these settings to the default. After this restart computer (must be a restart non a shutdown). Test the new context menu now, let us know how you get on.

Hi, looks similar some third political party app has corrupted the context bill of fare. Go hither and download ShellExView:-

Run the plan read all the info on the web site. Look at context card and nether "product name" and "company" expect for anything not from MS. Anything that looks suspicious OR you don't recognize you can correct click on and select disable, the trouble will be one of these entries. You can ever re enable them later if y'all make a mistake.

i think information technology might be
mylock box
my locked binder is "new binder"
i just unlocked "new folder" and was able to create a new folder "new folder2"
willchange proper noun and see what happens

Hullo, registry cleaners are not recommended, the registry is a database and as such empty or invalid entries volition be ignored, at that place is a possibility a reg cleaner will remove a needed entry and as running 1 has no positive benefit, it is better to non put your machine at chance. Generally the clean function of ccleaner is fine, although lately it has been causing some problems, I do not utilise it myself.

with xp i could leave new binder every bit is and lock with my lock box
with win10, i have to change name or i cant open more new folders
problem solved................... for now.
